Query Analyzer run in Windows 10 – The ordinal 1 could not be located in the dynamic link library – SQLUNIRL.dll

SQLUNIRL.DLL_1

The error message from the subject is happening to users who tries to run Query Analyzer (from SQL Server 2000) in Windows 10. You will receive this error message like below,

Solution to this error is actually simple, but to get the solution to work, you will need to have the file – SQLUNIRL.dll
The file can be retrieved from the folder
C:\Windows\System32

or you can download from
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/S/sqlunirl.dll/2000.080.0728.002/download.html

Then copy the file to the folder where the Query Analyzer resides, (e.g.)
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Binn

Re-run the SQL Query Analyzer, and you should be fine now~
